Annual Duck Race
The Stephenson Lions Club Duck Race fundraiser takes place each summer in Port Sydney. 2200 rubber ducks are released at the top of the Port Sydney dam and race toward the finish line at Indian Landing. The first three ducks to cross the finish line win a prize!
Over the past 20 years we have sold over 40,000 ducks and raised more than $100,000 that has been put back into our community.

Despite being a waterless race this year, the 21st Annual Duck Race was held on August 2, with proceeds split between The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation and Hospice Huntsville. Here’s Lion Gord Looker happily handing out the cheques to these very deserving organizations. A huge Lions Club thank you to everyone who supported us and made these donations possible.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the 2020 Duck Race was a bit different than previous years. We made the decision to hold a draw, rather than the traditional race, in order to keep everyone safe and respect social distancing. The event was broadcast live on Moose FM.
Three tickets were drawn (one for the grand prize, second price and third prize) and the happy winners were notified.Â
We missed seeing everyone’s smiling faces this year! This event is always a fun-filled day out in the community. We’re looking forward to hopefully getting back to normal for 2021 but we’re happy that we could still support our amazing community in this time of need. Thanks for your continued support!
